Bronx Cultural Trolley kicks off Viva Bronx! on October 3rd

The Bronx Culture Trolley rolls again on October 3rdt, kicking off ¡Viva Bronx! – 12 days of cultural activities along the South Bronx Cultural Corridor. Trolley night activities include six art exhibitions, a book signing event at the Bronx Museum of the Arts, a Hip Hop Theater performance, unique creations of art and jewelry at the Artisans Boutique, and a trip to the Alexander Avenue Art & Antiques District. As always, the night will wind down at Sweetwaters Bar & Grill with music by the Ethereal Jazz Quartet. The Bronx Culture Trolley is a program of the Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA). Read more…

Car buffs flock to orchard beach show

The 8th Annual Orchard Beach Classic Car & Motorcycle Show was held at the Orchard Beach parking lot on Sunday, September 20. It was by far the best and busiest year yet as an awesome contingent of leather-clad bikers sped for the annual morning Memorial Run to Ground Zero. Vince (Johnny Sack) Curtola and Vincent (Big Pussy) Pastore of The Sopranos; Goumba Johnny (KTU); Joe Causi (WCBS); and Jimmy (Mouth from the South) Hart signed autograph and posed for photos. Boo at the Zoo promises three exciting WCS weekends

The Bronx Zoo at its Wildlife Conservation Society headquarters really is the place to be this Halloween with three special Boo at the Zoo weekends presented by Pepsi and supported by FedEx. Families can enjoy safe and fun activities from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on each of these special weekends: October 11, 12 and 13; October 18 and 19; and October 25 and 26. The bats and black cats in JungleWorld; the snakes and lizards at the World of Reptiles; the nocturnal wildlife inside the World of Darkness; vultures at the Bird of Prey, and the 100,000 hissing cockroaches in the new Madagascar! exhibit are sure to delight and maybe even provide a screech or two to set the Halloween mood.
