CARDINAL HAYES HIGH SCHOOL PRESENTS THE SIXTH ANNUAL CELEBRATION OF BLACK HISTORY, CULTURE AND FAITH: THE W.E.B. CHALLENGE 100 HAYESMEN IN PRAYER
In celebration of Black History Month, Cardinal Hayes High School will be hosting the sixth annual W.E.B. Challenge: 100 Hayesmen in Prayer via Zoom on Wednesday, February 24th at 6:00pm.
This event was inspired by faculty who dreamed about starting a day with 100 men at morning Mass who would be a spiritual force fueling and animating our school. Upon hearing this idea, other colleagues noted that 100 men would represent a “talented- tenth” that both compares and contrasts with DuBois’ own version. With the COVID-19 restrictions Hayes seeks innovative ways to continue its traditions; hence, students, faculty, parents and alumni are invited to form a “virtual talented tenth” as we honor Black History Month. Via ZOOM, the legacy of W.EB. Dubois, himself, will be the touchstone for the reflection and prayer.
Please join Brother Sherlog, Religion Teacher at Cardinal Hayes and guest speakers to honor and celebrate Black history, culture and faith.
