Injured? One longtime local chiropractor has got your back – literally.

For over 25 years, Dr. Dominick Senzamici has provided relief and service for those who suffer from persistent aches, body pains, injuries or trauma with his chiropractic care.

Senzamici, who graduated from St. John’s University with a BS after majoring in Biology, earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College in 1989.

He was officially licensed in May of that year. After receiving his doctorate, he worked alongside chiropractor Dr. Joseph Del Giudice’s at his office on East Tremont Avenue as an associate doctor for five years.

After awhile Senzamici started his own practice, Senzamici Chiropractic Care, which opened in 1994, to serve Pelham Bay, Country Club and Throggs Neck.

The practice was located at 1298 Crosby Avenue until 1998, when he moved his office to 1169 Crosby Avenue, a location the practice stayed at until 2011. It is now located at 1330 Hobart Avenue.

In his nearly three decades of business, Senzamici has treated patients who suffer with neck, back, arm, leg, Arthritis and Fibromyalgia pain, work and sports related injuries, automobile trauma and headaches.

His practice focuses on, and has always focused on, traditional chiropractic techniques that center more on improving an individual’s natural body strength as opposed to modern day medicines, such as aspirin, Advil and Tylenol, that cover up the pain

“Medicine will only maintain your pain for a couple of hours – they do not completely treat the symptoms and can actually produce negative effects,” said Senzamici. “With the right conditioning and therapy, your body can heal itself and correctively minimize and treat the pain.”

Senzamici, whose practice offers chiropractic examinations and services such as adjustments and manipulations, spinal and postural screenings, stress reduction therapy, acupressure and conditioning exercise for its patients, also treats children with various injuries.

If left untreated, these injuries can cause major developmental issues later in life for the children affected, according to Senzamici.

“By teaching a child proper exercises and stretches, we will develop a game-plan to coincide with the child’s active life to prevent them from obtaining further injuries,” said Senzamici.

Senzamici, a Pelham Bay-born, lifelong Bronx resident, is truly living out his dream by giving back to the borough that raised him in a profession that he loves and has a real passion for.

“It is very ratifying to know that I can help service the community with my natural healing techniques,” Senzamici said. “I’m thrilled to be in a position where I can relieve people of all ages who have pain and don’t know where to begin when it comes to receiving treatment.”

“I’m very proud that my son has found a way to help those who are suffering to find relief in a profession that he enjoys so much,” said Silvio Senzamici, Dominick’s father, who is a frequent visitor in the office.

“I have certainly learned a lot from him,” said Emily DeJesus, who has worked with Senzamici for 17 years as a chiropractic assistant. “He does so much for his community and that should make him feel really special.”
