On Thursday, April 2, Careers through Culinary Arts Program’s Cooking Competition for College Scholarship witnessed 22 high school students representing New York Public Schools from all five boroughs re-creating the intensity of a four-star restaurant kitchen as they competed in a savory and sweet challenge. Competitors were allowed two hours to prepare a French meal of Hunter’s Chicken with Tourné potatoes and dessert crepes with pastry cream and chocolate sauce. These young culinary artists vied for more than $500,000 in scholarships and opportunities including full- and partial-tuition scholarships to premier local culinary colleges and to some of the most prestigious culinary schools in the country. The winners of this competition will be announced at the C-CAP New York Awards Breakfast scheduled for this Friday, April 17 at The Pierre Hotel.
