Dead body found by St. Raymond’s Cemetery

Bronx Times

Police are currently looking for suspects involved in the abduction and murder of a Wakefield man.

At approximately 10:44 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 44-year-old Pedro Julio Sanchez Martinez was abducted from in front of his home at 3908 Bronx Boulevard.

Officers of the 47th Precinct responded to the scene after residents called 911 saying that Martinez was beaten, abducted by a group of men, and forced into a car.

Alongside St. Raymond’s Cemetery on the corners of Ellison and Waterbury avenues, Martinez was found dead with his hands bound behind his back on Friday, November 11 at approximately 12:20 a.m.

Emergency Medical Service workers pronounced him dead on arrival. However, the medical examiner’s office had yet to determine the cause of death as of Tuesday, November 15.

As of press time, a police spokesperson said that no arrests have been made in connection to the abduction or the murder.
