About us

Throggs Neck Home Owners Association

We are holding our last meeting for the summer on Tuesday, June 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Villa Barone Manor. Our guest speaker will be the commanding officer of the Patrol Borough Bronx, Assistant Chief Carolos Gomez. We look forward to meeting the chief and working with him for a better neighborhood and a better Bronx.

I have received some calls to pick up items that some members have for the troops. If you can’t come to drop it off at the meeting, we will pick it up that week. I have two people already to call for a pick up and will be glad to do so for anyone who wants to donate but cannot make it to the meeting.

At our last meeting, one of our members asked how they can stop sales catalogs and unwanted solicitations from being mailed to them. Her is what I found on the subject:

The Direct Marketing

Association

If you want to cut out a lot of the junk mail coming to your house in one blow, the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) is the way to go. It’s not a federal program like the Do Not Call Registry but most reputable direct marketers belong to the DMA, and they offer an opt-out service to you, the consumer. You fill out a form with the DMA, then they compile a list of those who do not wish to receive unsolicited mail and send it to client companies who order these lists.

There are three ways to register with the DMA’s opt-out service: you can simply send a post card with your name and address to:

Mail Preference Service, Direct Marketing Association, PO Box 643, Carmel, NY 10512.

I hope all of our wonderful dads had a great father’s day!I can’t believe that July 4th is almost here.

As always, if you need us, please call at (718) 823-0327. Have a wonderful week.
