Korony American Legion Post 253

Around The Post

(Since 1927)

The next meeting of the Theodore Korony Post 253 will be at the Turner Club, the third Sunday, January 18, at 11 a.m. sharp.

Joe Mazzareiello came up with a nice idea. As post historian, he was presented with a large box of photos of the post family. Instead of putting them away forever in albums, he decided to identify the individuals and send the photos to them as mementos!

A big thanks to Mike Dzuima of Michael’s at the Turner Club, for the hospitality and great snacks at our meetings and our recent party.

I’m glad the guys at 620 are supporting NY’s own 10th Mountain Division.

I looked under my desk and what does the dummy find? A bunch of stuff for the troops! I’ll deliver it to the post with my students this week.

February 14 is the evening set for our Annual Reunion Dance at the Bronxonia Yacht Club. Please RSVP as soon as you can if interested.

Around

The Community

Regretfully we announce the passing of Joel Attis of Alden Park. The ‘Doc’ was a supporter of the old post and our newer operation at Longstreet Avenue. He was a member of the Sons Squadron 253, and of course, he will be missed.

Until Next Time

The commander and staff hope all of you have a safe and happy holiday season.
