AFC Rapid Soccer: Week 4

The last game in September was played, and there have been no cancellations due to the weather. (I hope I haven’t jinxed us.) Here are the highlights:

Vito’s Deli “sliced up” Carrillo Construction, 2-0. The offense was carried by the Von Kessel brothers, Steven & Chris, leading to goals by Steven Martine and Granna Deglatini. The “D” was held by Anthony Russo, Connor Hanli-Piri with a shutout pitched by Blaise Narcisco.

Our Lady of the Assumption “rolled up” Carpet Expo in a tight one, 1-0. Scoring his first goal in the Boys Majors was Mike Wicks, which accounted for all the goals. Offensive angels were Chris DiMarco and Gabriel Martinez-Perry. Protecting the sacristy were Peter Leich and Kyle Zima.

Capital Shield shutout Porco Public Acctng, 4-0. Julia DiMarco (3) and Brennan Leone (1) put the balls in the back of the net. Pushing the “O” were Rebecca Cerini and Dante DeJesus. The defense (Shield) was supplied by Luke Cunaj, Daysha Colon and Justin Diubaldo in the net.

Geronimo’s Deli refused to bow before the Knights of St Benedicts defeating them, 6-2. Serving the salads were Andrew Rosario (2), Nick D’Ancona (2), Chris Margiapilli (1) and Marcos Ballinas (1). Chopping the ingredients were Bobby Biolsi and Harold Herrera. Cleaning up were Michael Murphy and Jonathan Repetti.

Isabella City Carting led an assault on Seal Tite Builders defeating them, 2-1. Heather Caputo scored the lone goal for Seal Tit with offensive help from Meghan Netterville & Angelina Claudio. The defense for the builders was supplied by Cindy Virello, Julidette D’errico and Varina Munoz.

In another tight Girls Majors match Finest Auto Body squeaked by Magic Touch Cleaners, 4-3. The dents were removed by Sabrina D’Ancona (2), Dabae Dookie (1) and Danielle Kibler (1). The defense was held by Jasmine Benoit.

Schuyler Hill F.H. continued their undefeated season with a victory over 3rd Plumbing, 4-0. A total team effort was given as scoring was shared among Michael Martinez-Perry, Jake Torres-Serrano, Luca Policicchio and Louis Vegliante. Standout “O” from Richie Massa, Anthony Cacace and Sarah O’Keefe. The “wall” was supplied by Luca Policicchio and Joseph O’Keefe.

Captain Mikes Diving “deep-sixed” Shamrock Inn, 3-2. The lead divers were Isabella Harris, Victoria Schnepf and Kristina Reyes with a goal each. Other treasure salvagers were Colleen Kallop and Sarah Locke. Leading the recovery were Elizabeth Treanor, Krista Febles, and Rosaleen Frawley. Manning the net was Kelsey O’Brien.

C.I.Contracting worked out at Fusion Fitness winning, 2-0. The scoring was shared by Dino Espoaito and Leo Kibler Jr., whose enthusiasm carried through the whole team. Outstanding offensive play from Michael Gugliotta, Michael Kroner, Emily Herrera and Christina Todino. Defensively Jonathan Neill was persistent and Adam Buckley kept Fusion on the schneid.

The buzzing in the hive made honey sweeter than the ices, as Frank Bees defeated Teresa’s Ices, 4-1. The queen bee was Nicole Soares (3) and Emily Meaney (1) was Princess. The workers were Erika Janny, Nikki Spinola, Nick Leone and Meghan McCormack. Protecting the hive were Frank Ramundo, Chris Morakes, Gino Irrizarry, Carlo Fine, Briano Cicalo and Keeper, Eric DiMarco.

Excellent teamwork led to Caribe Corp’s victory over Milea Auto Sales, 2-1. Offensive play of Joseph Gabriele, Luke Greco and William Almanzar led to two goals by Frank Gaudio. The undertow defense was supplied by Antonio Mancini an Liana Chavez. The lone goal for Milea was scored by Lauren Schnepf. Other strong performances from Nick Schiraldi, Thomas Knecht, Julia Haas, James Albertelli, Owen Madigan and Stefan Stranzl.

Barino’s Market pumped up its muscles and defeated Edgewater AA, 3-1. Putting on the muscle for Barino’s were Joe DelGrosso (2) and Nicholas Kola (1). Midfield was controlled by Veronica Aquino while defense was supplied by Matthew Hall, Rebecca Lubelli and Monika Popovic. The Athletes were led by Kyle Brandsetter (1), Peter Chadwick, Brian Kimmel, Amy Riker and goaltender, Tommy Marley.

Locust Point Y.C. “sailed away from” Side Street Sports, 3-1. The top swabbies were Soulemon Kone (2) and Jahlani Samuel (1). Other stellar performances were given by Austin Cottam, Luis Chaves, Joe Cawley and Nick Severin. The lone goal for Side Street was scored by Rubin Camano.

P. Wynne, Attorney ate and drank well at Fiddlers Elbow winning, 5-1. The senior court clerks were Andres Soto (2), Nikoletta Marku (1), Ibrahim Diallo (1) and Christopher Soto (1). Bailiffs were Samantha Alonso and Georgia Argyros. Top Fiddlers were Patrick Connoly (1), Ryan Maloney and Isabell Ayala.
