District Attorney Robert T. Johnson announced that the owner of a spa has been convicted of sexually abusing a client on February 20, 2006.

Jose Jimenez was found guilty on one count of sexual abuse in the 3rd degree and one count of harassment in the 2nd degree following a non-jury trial before State Supreme Court Justice John Moore. Sexual abuse in the 3rd degree is a Class B misdemeanor offense punishable by a maximum sentence of up to 90 days in jail. Harassment in the 2nd degree is a violation. The judge set sentencing for Wednesday, October 22, in Part M-70.

The complainant, a 22-year-old college student when the incident occurred, testified that Jimenez touched and rubbed her groin area and breasts without her consent. The victim said that she went to the Salud Natural Health and Beauty Center, at 2566 Bronxwood Avenue, for a colonic treatment and was offered a free massage by the defendant who then sexually abused her.
